In 2009, Linda Sullivan established Civil Infrastructure Associates, LLC (CIA Engineers). Her goal was to create a small company that offered the experience and capability of the larger firms where she had worked, but with some important differences.

Instead of layers of bureaucracy, she said, “Let’s stay small and agile.” That means less time focused inwardly and more time thinking about the client’s needs.

It also allowed the company’s team members, from the top down, to be personally involved in projects—resulting in faster decision making, streamlined project management, more direct communication, and real cost savings. The payoff? The client gets the best end result possible.

And far from being a one-stop shop for anything and everything, the company chose to stick to what they do best: infrastructure for the public sector. By building on the company’s strengths, CIA Engineers is able to not only serve its clients better, but to be an invaluable teaming partner for other firms.
