Airport Deicing Fluid Collection Study

Study to improve deicing fluid collection and treatment system at Nashville International Airport.

CIA assisted in a study for improvements to the deicing fluid collection and treatment system at Metro Nashville/Davidson County’s major air carrier airport. CIA was a subconsultant to Gresham Smith & Partners. The scope of the study included visually reviewing the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and reviewing existing reports, data, and sample analysis. Following the review and analysis, improvement options for the collection and treatment system were identified and defined. These options were then analyzed for pros and cons, including costs, and reported to the client with recommendations. CIA’s role involved studying the separation of storm and sanitary sewers and industrial pretreatment permit parameters.
