Roadway and ROW Staking

Surveying to stake existing right-of-way and proposed centerline and right-of-way for new connector for Franklin, Tennessee.

In an effort to relieve traffic congestion and improve roadway connectivity along the Columbia Avenue (U.S. Hwy. 31) corridor south of Franklin, the City of Franklin needed to improve the signalized intersection of Century Court with Columbia Avenue as well as construct a two-lane connector roadway through a densely developed corridor between Century Court and Beasley Road.

The City of Franklin hired CIA to provide professional surveying services to stake the existing right-of-way lines of Century Court and Columbia Avenue as well as stake the proposed centerline, back of curb lines, and right-of-way lines of the new connector roadway. Work included boundary resolution and field reconnaissance to recover existing property corners to establish the existing right-of-way locations, recovery of pre-existing control for the design plans prepared by others, conversion of all data to TN state plane coordinate values, and staking of the roadway right-of-way, centerline, and curb lines.
